I was there for the June 25-27, 1990 days. HOT. Ironically, it was my first time in Arizona. I was visiting Arizona State devil.gif (still ended up going there).

I think I was also there during the '91-'95 time period for the longest consecutive stretch of 110-degree days- don't remember how many days in a row it was or if the record still stands.

Might want to recheck those 120F temperatures because I think one happened in 1994 which is when TUS set their all time record of 117F and Lake Havasu hit 128F. July 1995 was a hummer to be sure. Ironically, 1913, besides being late in getting hot in PHX was also the year they hit +16F in January and when Death Valley hit 134F in July.

I had thought that 6/26/90 hit 123F. Sky Harbor Ap had to suspend flights due to the extreme heat not allowing enough "lift" to support takeoffs. I was in LA that day. The LA Civic Center hit 112F. Quite a day!

Actually I got that info from the NWS Phoenix site. I guess I should have said that in the original post. My bad.

I missed all those high temps since I didn't first move out here until 1996. The hottest temp I've ever experienced was 126 in Bullhead City back in 1999. I believe that it hit 117 here in Phoenix that day.

I arrived here in 1986 and I can tell you that June 1995 was not hot (rather cool in fact) but that July 1995 was fearsomely hot. The hot June besides 1990 was 1994 but it wouldn't be the first time that PHX blew a climo summary.
