Still sleeting here, not switching to snow.

Truly amazing stuff going on. Frozen precip in Baltimore proper before most of VT!

Someone pointed this out in another thread.

Just checked for myself & am baffled that the current RUC analysis has the low currently 7 to 8 MB's stronger than both the NAM and GFS predicted at this time -

What?!??!?!?!??!?! :o

Just by looking at this, I know some surprises are coming and a potential bust is possible. :guitar:

Bring on the cold air.

It's basically inferring that the low pressure is stronger(lower barometric pressure) than progged(forecasted) and cold air could drain into the area more quickly resulting in a surprise snowstorm for someone.

Have fun everyone. :snowman:

One thing I have noticed up here in NJ in the last hour or so is that the winds are really starting to pick up and become quite gusty.

Im pretty sure were going to hear in the early morning discussions that the storm has slowed down some and strengthen more that expected. Its still currently over the gulf stream. Storms love to stay over warm water.

0z GFS hinted at this also. Especially with the 30 to 36 hour forecasts where it almost looked like its trying to retrograde the Low once its just east of long island. Which is always a possibility.

Another reason why I think it slowed down.. Precip was suppose to start here atleast 6 hours ago. still nothing.

34 and snowing hard here in Manchester. Ground is white, about a quarter inch coating on everything now, real pretty. Unbelievable for this time of year. Where is Marcus, he lives just 2 miles up the road from me?

There are 3 thermometers in the area at 34 one at 35. It's dynamics. Cold upper atmosphere.

I was 37/37 when I woke up on the morning of 10/28/08, (the October snow-deluge in NJ)and I was able to dynamically cool just fine to 32 degrees. It didn't happen by magic.
