* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
CENTRAL COOK COUNTY IN NORTHEAST ILLINOIS...
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF CHICAGO...

* UNTIL 415 PM CDT...

* AT 254 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 25 MILES WEST OF OHARE AIRPORT TO 25 MILES WEST OF WESTERN SPRINGS...AND MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH. THESE STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 80 MPH.

storm in michigan has really tightened up its rotation now. I would assume a watch is issued shortly, for the storms moving ENE from near Chi. and also storms that may form in the state itself.

I would watch that cell merger in SW Will County. That individual cell's vorticity may be enhanced by the interaction with the line, and it could lead to a possible tornado.

Out to the west of me it's INCREDIBLY nasty looking here in Dupage county.

Wow, very impressive BWER on the leading edge of that line just NE of Wheaton in the GR3 image Tony posted above. This is obviously a dangerous storm regardless, but in such a populated area, there could be significant damage from this cell both from the likely tornado, and from pot'l for hurricane force straight-line winds.

Tornado reported on the ground by spotters in Bolingbrook. If this in fact the case, and I have absolutely no reason to suspect it is not, then this is their second tornado this month. An EF1 touched down on the 11th(?), I'm gonna dig up the PNS now.
